Comprehensive Eye Health Examination: Your eye examination includes much more than just, "which is better? One or Two?" We also look for signs of ocular health problems such as Macular Degeneration, Cataracts, or Glaucoma.
In addition to ocular health problems, we are also on the look out for general health conditions such as Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, and in some cases even tumors and cancers can be detected. Our Comprehensive Eye Health Examination is an essential part to your general health, and it is recommended that you have your eye examination at least every two years for adults, and every year for school age children.
Children's Eye Health Examination: Parents often wonder "What is a good age to have my child's eyes examined?" We like to begin monitoring children's vision at six months of age to ensure proper development of eye muscles and that the child is learning to use their eyes as expected.
Some research indicates that one in four school aged children have an undetected eye problem, and additional research has indicated that this can impact performance at school.
Spectacle Wearers: Our Eye Health Examination also includes your doctor prescribed lens prescriptions, if necessary.
Contact Lens Wearers: If
you are currently wearing contact lenses or you wish to begin wearing
contact lenses, the FDA requires an annual contact lens evaluation to
ensure that your eyes are healthy, and that the lenses continue to fit
properly. If you are interested in contact lenses, or you are a new
patient currently using contact lenses, please indicate that you would
like a contact lens evaluation, as the prescription for spectacle lenses
and contact lenses are different.
